Bretho is committed to protecting your privacy and to being transparent about the limited data the app collects.

Data Collection

While the app functions primarily on your device without requiring personal information, I use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous usage data. That helps me improve the app while maintaining user privacy.

• No personally identifiable information is collected.
• Anonymous identifiers are collected, such as Device ID.
• Non-personal usage data is collected, such as product interactions.

Data Usage

The data collected is used solely for analytics and improving the app. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking purposes.

AI Features and Message Processing

When you use Bretho Bud (the in-app AI breathing session generator), your message is processed in one of two modes, depending on your device and settings:

• Server mode: on all devices, including devices without Apple Intelligence support, Bretho Bud can run in server mode. In this mode, your message is securely sent to Bretho’s servers and may be relayed to trusted third-party AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
• Apple Intelligence mode: on supported Apple devices, you can choose to have Bretho Bud use Apple Intelligence. In this mode, your requests are handled by Apple Intelligence on your device, Bretho does not receive the contents of your message on its own servers, and these experiences can continue to work even when you are offline, subject to Apple Intelligence availability.

Whether processed on-device or via Bretho’s servers, I recommend avoiding personal or sensitive information when using Bretho Bud. For example, a message like "I feel burned out from work" or "I want to feel more relaxed, it's my birthday" is fine, but please do not include names, locations, or contact details.

When messages are sent to Bretho’s servers or third-party AI providers, they may store or use the data to improve their models as described in their privacy policies. Any such data is not associated with your identity within Bretho and cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Apple Health Integration

If you choose to enable Apple Health integration:

• Bretho only writes breathing session data
• Bretho does not read or access any other health data
• You control all health data through Apple Health
• Health data is not stored on Bretho’s servers
• Apple Health integration can only be disabled through your device's Settings app or from the Health app.

No Advertising

Bretho is completely ad-free and will always remain ad-free. There are no advertisements, no advertising networks, and no data collection for advertising purposes.

Children's Privacy

Bretho can be used by people of all ages. I recommend parental guidance for children under 13. All content inside the app is educational and focused on breathing and mindfulness.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy occasionally. Any significant changes will be communicated through the app or on this website.
